1996, Carolina Cajun was formed shortly after the marriage of Jeff and Valerie, each with their own separate roots in Louisiana and Charlotte. Carolina Cajun started as a hobby when Jeff began catering large parties, where he would showcase its Low Country Boils, Red Beans and Rice and outstanding Gumbo to many business gatherings and large corporations. Later, with the help of a childhood friend, our BBQ sauce was born. That combination has been able to establish a truly unique collection of flavors. Carolina Cajun is the epitome of a southern BBQ sauce. It contains a Carolina vinegar base and also packs a Cajun kick that can enhance and even recreate dishes that need a little extra flavor.

The legend of Carolina Cajun began to grow at parties, family functions and pig pickins, which all started to feature this delicious sauce. Such a high demand is what actually introduced the idea of bottling this sauce and making it available to the public. That led to the development of a bottled product, which brought Carolina Cajun to the masses.

The idea behind Carolina Cajun is to maintain its Creole roots while combining that with a good ole’ fashion Carolina BBQ recipe. Anyone who has ever been down to the bayou and tasted some of those rich and local flavors can experience that taste in the unique blend that is found in Carolina Cajun.
